Guys:     You are free to recommend, cajole, intimidate or exert whatever pressure you feel appropriate, but the agrieved (I thinks that's sort of a legal term) has to pass sentence.

However, to quote Lynn, 'you might as well get used to the fact, the boys (that's the two of you) will extract their pound of flesh'.  I assume, therefore, that she is going to be receptive to your recommendations. 

Shrimp cocktail, while tasty, doesn't seem like a punishment that fits the infraction.
