No, the youngest will still be in high school classes. Older (26) will be working and watching the younger while I ski!

Hey Jim,
Alice indeed is my wife Jim and due to her work schedule, can not make the Real Skiers Trip. Ed is a ski buddy I met at a Harb All Mountain and he joined us last year at Beaver Creek. He will be joining us.

Rich is a new name and you'll see that he responded on the roommate site. Rich is also a Harb friend I met during 2 Harb outings,  a Real SKiers member and has skied Steamboat numerous times. He is looking forward to meeting all and being part of our ski group.

As far as I know here's what we have:

Jim R
Michael B
Ron C
Rich K
Ed N
Gary C
Lynn....I'm hoping

There have been a few others who have stated interest but not confirmed. It would be nice to get more but, hey,....6,  8, or 10....we going to bust it loose and have an awesome time.

132 days or so....and COUNTING!!!

Best,
Gary

PS..Ron's going to need a ski caddy for sure!

Nice Lynn....I'm so happy you're joing you ski brothers. Ed will be there to assit you in putting on your boots and I willl be sure to have video with audio so we can share the experience with all.

Hope you are healing as our thougths continue to be with you!

Ok gang...let's get busy on the roomate situation. If anyone needs help, PM me or the person you're interested in rooming with.

I know Jim was checking out some off mountain possabilities to keep cost down.  I know Rich is looking for a roomate for as he posted. I think his preference is to be on the mountain.

ROn, Phil sounds like a good match up with our crew....Hmmmm....we'll be converting him to some tipping and counter moves for sure.

Best,
Gary

Yes, I use my laptop with the VERIZON air card. The cell coverage on the mountain is pretty good on my VERIZON cell phone .

Did I mention that my lovely wife works for Verison Wireless..... ;D

Hey Jim...I always bring my 2 way walkie talkies. I'll be bringing 2 but to be honest with you, we didn't use them when we were skiing cause we all skied together the whole time there. Not sure what FRS/GMS refers to but the walkie talkies I have are good for I think up to 2 miles.

Still, if you have them, bring what ya got and hopefully, we can tune in on the same channel. They do come in handy  like at breaks or somethimes from the hotel rooms if we're close enough.

Jim I know Ron brings his cell  phone on the mountain with him....me..I prefer not to although I did last year.

I'd rather use the walkie's.....I can always check my messages after ski day is done.

I bring the cell but it's turned off. I don't need anyone bothering me. I will bring w/talkies. I just have the older Motorolas. ?Will that suffice? Not sure how the older models do on big mtns?

I have newer (2 years old)  rechargeable Motorola units I think. Bring what ya got so if we have 6 units, it's easy to stay in touch at bathroom and lunch breaks.

Ron, I think even the older units are good for 2miles if there's no mountain in the way.

Jim..don't remember what channel I used but there's usually a bunch and we're not there during holiday so the chatter should not be an issue.

The issue is signal transmission. The older units are really poor if you are trying to reach someone over a peak or on a different part of the mountain,
