2006-2007 Magfire 10
« on: March 11, 2007, 07:59:11 am »
I tried this ski at Copper in January. The conditions were cold and hard. I'm a big guy 200+ lbs, been skiing for 42 years. The ski (175) just would not hook up in the hard conditions. It was so bad at first that I went had them tuned because I thought that it might be a tuning problem but they were only marginally better after that. I wish I could have tried the 12 since it has two sheets of metal but I wasn't able to do that.

At 200 pounds, this was not the ski for you. I have them in 160 cm. I weigh 155 after lunch, 5'8", 65 yo, very modest ability. They did fine on hardpack for me. They did require me to emphasize edging and favored modern technique. Better yet, they also worked well in ungroomed conditions, both bumps, untracked and tracked up at Mad River Glen.  Having skied the Mag 12, the 10 was a better fit for me. I do agree that the 12 may well have been a better fit for you.
