These people need to learn to leave their moose at home when they go skiing.
All-Mountain: A common descriptive term for boots or skis that are designed to perform equally poorly under a variety of conditions and over many different types of terrain.

I must be getting old.  Even on that gentle slope, I think my skis will slide downhill a lot faster than I could run across the hill in ski boots in soft snow (not to mention the time to take off my skis).  You almost wonder if he took his skis off and tried to walk towards the moose.

This thread is getting a little weird.

Perhaps....Years ago I was in Yellowstone when traffic came to a stop as folks kept pestering a bull trying to "get good pictures of it"....That was just before he beat up their Honda Civic....... ;D

Uncle was a Park Ranger up there for years, said incidents with moose far outnumbered bear. Apparently, they're right testy when you invade their space.....Or....Eve n if they invade yours.....At which point...The space becomes their's....... :D

Similar experience in Shenandoah National Park with a mother black bear with two cubs and people scrambling within 10 feet so they could get close-up pictures. I wonder how long it would have taken the bear to close that 10 foot gap if she thought the cubs were threatened.

Not too much, Lynn is an expert.
I thought it was pretty funny & ballsy at the same time.
Poking fun at ALL of the male members of the forum she was.

Well, at least moose are herbivores.  At Lake Louise they put up fences every spring to keep the grizzlies off the ski runs.  They come out of hibernation in late April / early May, and have been known to wander onto the slopes.  They have very poor vision....not the right time to be wearing a tan one-piece..."Yum! Venison. Me hungry."

And believe me, the bears are there.  Gary and I skied at Louise in late April, 2011, and took a back road to the village at the end of the day.  Wandering on the railway track was a huge male grizzly, about 3 times larger than a male black bear.  A massive beast...an incredible sight.
