Last night (9-11), the History Channel had 2 hour special using video tape made by NYC locals during the first several hours. It was chilling to view the comments, made in real time, knowing now that both towers would collapse. The resulting clouds of smoke were so devastating to the lungs of persons trapped in the area, and, the long term effects of lung damage have destroyed the lives of many hero's who responded.

Our world really needs to find ways to live in peace. May similar days never come again.

I did not sleep well last night.

I did not sleep well last night.
And I can certainly understand that.

What I took away from that YouTube video was one (probably of many) silver lining(s) in the overall 9/11 cloud, and that was just how good people can be in such an unthinkable situation. The ash covered people walking down the street did look like zombies; the boat owners heeding the call for help was fantastic.

And evacuating 1/2 a million people in 9 hours using such a ragtag armada was, as they said, amazing.
