Some New Head Skis
« on: January 29, 2007, 03:28:47 pm »
I pulled this off a post on Epic. I had heard about the IM 78, and the SS Magnum. I had not heard about the Xenon 9.0 skis which look like a Metron B5 knock off. It's 127-75-112 with a 12m radius in a 170cm length. Considering that I love Head skis and have never liked atomic skis, this is definitely a ski to try. My guess is that it won't feel nearly as heavy and burly as the B5.

You can buy all of them now with bindings here (or atleast read the stats and look at the pics:

Gary and I saw the xenons on Monday. They are capped construction and have a relatively soft tip. I guess this makes it bit more off-piste friendly. Interesting line. The Magnum, as you know is sandwich but goes at 71, there will also be a 78 in the xenon line and they are keeping the 82 and 88 in a sandwich. This makes a very interesting lineup, similar sizes but alternating between capped and vert.
