Good morning all!

Perry, I remember reading the review of the KOA 84 and being impressed. And interested in demo'ing.
Just for the fun of it. The Muanaga's are the foremother of the KOA's.

I am interested in picking out the next east coast ski. I want a fairly narrow waist.

I skied the Dynastar Exclusive Elite at Elk. Really liked it. Lively, gripped icey patches very well, very responsive.
Looking at their brochure that evening, I saw they have a 66 waist ski the Dynastar Fluid ? which is for 70% on piste , 30% off. The
shovel is the same as the Elite. I hope to find that to demo at some time. They did not have it ELk.

I also demo'ed the Elan Speed Magic. It had an even narrower waist than the Elite. However, it just went thru
piles of snow (pre mogul) like butter.Better than the Elite.  Edge grip on ice was very impressive as well!. They had a more damp feeling.

I want to demo them again, just to see if my initial sense of them is still strong.

For Gloria, I think the KOA is a very decent choice as her "western oriented " ski.

Let us know what you decide!

Lynn

Elan makes very good skis. That sounds like a very good ski.  Fun to carve ice and then bust some snow piles.  Who wouldn't be smiling  ;D

I love how this thread has spiraled.  Thanks for not letting me down.

Mike, I've never had a Tasty Cake, but I'm willing to try them if you're delivering :)

The Camp was awesome.  Didn't learn much as for new technique but I learned a lot of tactical stuff and gained a bit of confidence.

I have not done a TR yet, must get to it.

Carry on with your usual spiral, its what makes life fun, eh?

Trish - I am just curious what terrain they took you into, how they "pushed" you, and an example of what you are willing to try now due to improved confidence.

Trish,

Wanna see a grown Philly man cry? Tell Phil that Tastycake is bankraupt (or very close ).

It's a tough job keeping your thread going while you get to ski big lines with fab women. ;D

And yes, it has taken some interesting spirals. There is more than a little irony about all the male postings in thread titled "Calling All Women" ::) Hmmmm......

Just means that we are a bunch fully in touch with and accepting of the feminine side of our persona.

Also, I think that Snowhot and midwif are the only 2 women posting on any kind of a regular basis.

So, we are both glad most of you guys are "in touch " with your feminine side!

I know Ron is. The fashion hound. :D >:D

The warm up run on day one was a 35* pitch with bumps, and the last run on day two was off Granite Chief after a 20 minute hike and a steep line (?*), just before the cool down run which was Slot Canyon.

I'd say that my confidence levels and tactical skills have increased a teensy weensy bit.

Well, if your look is outdoorsy grunge, YOU GOT IT NAILED!!! >:D

Okay, I'm just saying that cause I'm jealous.
(uh, not of your look though) >:D

Those pics are beautiful. What great day it looks like.
And at first I thought you had taken up snowboarding when I saw the pic with the orange pants/gray jacket.
Though that might not even be you?

Trip report is in order, please!

Ron I'm loving your pics.  Keep 'em coming!

As for some pics from the Next Level with Ingrid and Jessica........
We really didn't stop to take pics much but here are a few that Rachel got to give you an idea of the terrain we covered and the beauty that is Tahoe!
Dropping into this was a bit intimidating but totally doable and tons of fun

Rachel took this pic from the same vantage point to get an idea of the beauty that surrounded us while we were taking it to the next level.

I'm the teeny fleck with the pink pants  :)

We had some seriously flat light during part of the day but still fun shreddin' the GNAR!
Elise the WC Freeskiing champion and one of our 4 instructors

And last but not least, the view from the top of Granite Chief

Beautiful!

The pic at the top of Granite Chief is wonderful. It must be amazing to be able to see Lake Tahoe
from the top of the mountain.

Sounds like you had an amazing week of skiing with other women..

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for readin'
I love to share my adventures, but often I forget to get the camera out.

Lynn, next year, you should totally do this with me.  I think you'd have a great time and be surprised at how much RAWR you have in you.

Ron, something tells me (by the big fat grin on Elise's face) that she really didn't care if she was tipping enough. :D

I do, however think she enjoyed the Tip she got from the women who did this camp.  We all chipped in and got all four instructors a massage at Squaw Valley Lodge Spa.
That's a tip worth grinning about!
