Anticipation
« on: November 12, 2009, 07:57:38 am »
I am SO looking forward to skiing again!!
Count down to skiing-24 days.

And I believe it is the same for those going to Steamboat!!
Looking forward to hearing about all the goings on there.

Jim and I will dutifully report our skiing breakthroughs at HH Camp.
With plenty of exaggeration. ;) ;D

Is this going to be an all male outing this year?

17 days for Lynn and me.  A-Basin camp starts Dec. 7th, we are flying on the 5th, skiing Loveland or Keystone on the 6th.

And, by the way, this is the first RealSkiers event that Lynn has missed; leaving only you and Gary that have been to every one.

Lynn,
Give HH a big kiss for me. He believes in counteracting not anticipation.
Ron may wish for you to give him something else. >:D
It's always darkest just before the dawn.

Nothing even penciled in here. Maybe Vt. in early December. Anybody doing local eastern stuff about that time?

Go get 'em and enjoy.

And here I thought math was YOUR stronger suit, not mine. >:D
Pretty sure 24 days, not 17. Though I wish you were right.

I think Ed is also a RS stalwart.

Ohhhh.? You are right.? I forgot about Ed.? But I can certainly understand why you would remember his gentlemanly boot assistance that first year.  >:D

I did pretty well with Algebra and even Differential Equations (Engineering Physics kicked my butt), but basic adding and subtracting isn't a strength.? I compensate with Excel and Windows Calculator.

Jim,

Those medical types have calendaring and scheduling down cold ... you can't slip anything past them.  It seems you're losing touch with your inner computer geek -- the uber-geek's swiss army knife (emacs calendar-mode) reports 24 days.

See y'all on the 7th.  I'll be at A-basin on the 6th checking out replacement Harb footbeds (Chris Brown's making them the evening before) and getting the lay of the land for the ski off and the 1st day.  Have fun at Keystone/Loveland!

I have no ill-will towards HH, I just beleive he does not represents himself professionally, nor does he preach what he practices (different that practice what he preaches) and that there is only one way to ski. I wish Lynn and jim a fantastic trip and I hope they become the skiers they want to become. It's a great big world with so much to enjoy. Got no time for "hatin" bro!

ON THE SNOW in 20 days!!

Going upstate this weekend and getting the Boot Bag, skis/clothes.
( I am a long time Transpack fan, on my second one. wore out the first)

The real difficulty will be choosing which ski ensembles to bring to camp.
The weather in Colorado does not seem reliable via long term forecasting.
Or short term forecasting. Or any kind of accurate forecasting.

And when videoed last year at Camp, it was noted by all that brighter, colors with some contrast on them made it MUCH easier to see!
The skiers angles and more suble movements were easier to discern, than those who wore darker more monotone outfits.

Thankfully, I can calm some of my excitement by just preparing for the trip and figuring out these small quandries. ;D

G,
This year is a no-go. I've got a family event on Sunday and leaving Monday would only leave 3 days skiing. The plus is a spring trip for a week is looking good, somewhere.

It hurts.
