Head Replacement
« on: October 03, 2008, 07:18:07 pm »
After the fact, I realized that title left all kinds of possible interpretations and comebacks. MOVING ON........

Many of you know that my bindings pulled out of one of my Head Every Thangs. I got these from HH at Solvista at a great price.
They were demo skis.
Head sent a new pair of '07-08. (I was secretly hoping for a free upgrade to this years Every One, oh well) :'(
They sent the same bindings back to be remounted.
The shop, near Elk Mountain in Pa, is charing me $54 for the shipping, mounting etc.
Not bad.
Glad to have my babies coming back home to mama. :D

I grew up near Philly.  Never skied at elk but had a few days at Big Boulder.

Never been to Big Boulder, but have heard many Pennsylvanians state Elk the best skiing in Pa.
Not a big mountain, but good variety for what it is. Once most of the trails are open (27 total, some of which are quite short),
there is lots of playful fun to be found.
They also have several bump trails.

Maybe a "mini meet and greet" at Elk sometime this season?
Ron occasionally goes there, it is my most regular spot to ski in the east and have heard Jim say he wants to check it out.
Closer to the season, I will post a thread seeing who wants to do it.

Lynn, very happy to hear about the skis! I can't beleive they didn't upgrade to a nw pair of 08's though. I would be totally up for a Elk day. Great place to ski.

Lynn:

Yes, I have been looking for somewhere with more snow than the "local mountains" (within 90 minutes drive) that isn't a horrible drive, and would love to ski with y'all at the widely touted Elk mountain.  The "local mountains" struggled the last couple of years due to warmer weather, and it seems ilke the dividing line is right through the middle of Pennsylvania. All of the cold weather (and recent snow storms) seem to stay north of that dividing line  My other option is West Virginia, and while that is similar distance, it is a much tougher drive on much hillier and less maintained roads.
