vest design.
« on: October 31, 2007, 07:38:06 am »
OK I e-mailed out the Realskier logo Peter designed. I was thinking that if we go with the same light blue vest, then the logo solid stiched in dark blue with "steamboat 07' solid stiched in smaller font below in red would look nice. Any thoughts?

ROn...still not sold on the date.

Also...I'd would like to make sure the contrast of the logo would be very easy to see. Not sure the dark blue on the light blue would do that.
Light grey....or white ....you think too "shout it from a tree top"?

I think if it stands out...it will make for interesting conversations.

Gary, the contrast would be very high. It would actually jump more than a white or Grey. Essentially here's what I am thinking

RealSkiers.com
Steamboat 07

The "Steamboat 07" would be substantially smaller font and centered beneath the "realskier"

You could also do a filled box in white around the two lines with a dark blue border. This would give it a Steamboat logo feel.

I see what you mean Ron. The midnight blue letters would stand out.

Still with the date...so you're thinking every year RS convenes, we'd have another place and date sewn on cause I don't need a plethora of vests in my ski ready bag.

Ok Merlin....magic was created in one day.....we need our other ski brothers to chime in here.

I do agree the embroiderd logo would look great. If people wanted to put on patches or pins, really up to the individual I think.

Come on Jim and Lynn....

Need some input here..Hello out there.... ::)

Sounds good guys, We could just do the logo a bit larger and drop the "steamboat" reference. If anyone wanted, it could also be added across the back........ I would do that in just the outline.

The above sounds good to me. ?I like the reminder of it being in '07 even if we do something different (or nothing) next year.

Regarding Gary's concern about having a closet of RealSkiers jackets, let's worry about future years when future years happen and just make a nice looking decision for this year. ?I like the RealSkiers with Steamboat better than just RealSkiers.com, and I think the addition of '07 to the SteamBoat is a positive addition.

I'll go along with Jim/Ron on this. Sounds okay the way you describe.

I want mine to have a cape on it...a blue cape...so it matches the vest or maybe dark blue to match the letters in the logo..you know to help set off the cape.

Hey...put Steamboat on the vest...cool....mayb e we could garner the name into discounted drinks and meals...

If they think we work there...maybe we could get employee discounts...

Wait..maybe even first chair.....wow...how much could I parley this into?

Thanks guys.....I'm in...Steamboat/vest this year....boxers next.!

Can I have some stars on my cape?

Ok resolved I get my cape AND Steamboat added?

Do the capes come with small collars...do I need a license to wear such a cape? Will the cape be aerodynamic?

I'm worried about it getting caught on the chair lift.

Aw heck..no one will ski with me with a cape...flush the cape idea....well unless you all want one...come on..what do ya say?

Ron....what's the status on the vests?

When will you need bucks?

Will they be available when we board the "Boat"?
