Let me start by saying my wife, yes my wife absolutley loves her light weight silk long underwear. She likes its wicking and warmth properties, the way it feels and I like the way it looks...(but I won't go there). She likes them so much that between washing and wear the last 3 skis seasons, that looked like they survived a howitzer barrage last day of skiing last year.
Well, when traveling with good friends last year we decided to take those undies and pack them into our friends suitcase when we left? Aspen. Knowing this friend, he probably still has yet to find them...and that's the kind of friend I am.
So...with goodness in my heart and the Winter Silks Catalog that arrived at our house, I began cruising through the catalog to see what kind of goodies they had for me little lady.
It was then I asked myself, "do real men weak silk undies"...now of course I could have asked Ron or Jim since they are the Real Skiers fashion gurus....but thinking of the beating I'd take I decided to go alone.
So...I ordered her a pair tops and bottoms...OK...in Mocha...and ordered myself a pair of black.
Now let me tell, they came the other day and my wife was thrilled I ordered her new silk ski underwear and in the correct size. Her modeling them for me was worth the purchase.
So I opened my pair and noticed how thin and soft they were...actally kind of see through. My wife said..."try them on for me" I said, "no later" ...well,...you guys now...a man must be alone with his new undies...you know to connect.
So later came while she had got into bed and I held them up thinking, send them back, try them on...So what the heck, I tried them on and they fit not to tight but actually very comfortably. My wife even stood up in bed and said "very nice big fella"..(OK I added the big fella)....but what the heck, if my wife says they wick well and make a great base layer, who am I to doubt the wisdom of a woman who's out there skiing with me.
Final testing to be done on my first ski day out but no way, modeling them for anyone.....no Ron, don't ask!
