Rossi B3/IM 88/Dynastar 8000/8800?
« on: October 17, 2006, 10:15:45 am »
I just bought a pair of Legend 8000's and I was looking for a little input compared to the Rossi B3, the Head IM 88, K2 Recon etc. My everyday ski is the K2 Apache crossfire, the funnest ski I ever owned but I heard that the recon was a little heavy in powder.

I purchased them for off piste primarily in the East in 158cm with the Look PX12 ti binding with 6mm lift. I am 5'6" 145 advance/expert. I am light so I like a lighter ski with a stifffer tip. I have a little trouble with sizing head skis. The 163's tend to feel heavy (I can't throw them around in the trees etc) and the 156 is a little short. I found the IM 75 in 163 for $329 with LD12 binding brand new! If I liked them I would buy them!

I agree the availability of sizes on the head models is a problem. The need to offer more sizes. I think the 8000 is a great choice.

The 8000 is a good choice for what described.  I found the 8000 to have an  excellent combination of a light feel but still retaining power and stability.  Often those two attributes tend to be muchually (sp?) exclusive.
