After consulting with some forum members yesterday, their response was something like:
Come on man, are you crazy! GS skis and racing for you???? ::) ::)

I've come back to planet Earth and will no longer pursue high speed skis. No crashes permitted, and, it's in keeping with my ski mantra "make good decisions"
